Robyn Saia, HR Consultant & Accounting at Beyond Business Solutions, Inc.

Robyn Saia found HR through an unconventional path: she began her career in public accounting, working as a CPA for Arthur Andersen performing financial statement audits for a variety of clients.  After realizing that she was an atypical accountant – she enjoyed interacting with people more than balance sheets! - Robyn decided to make two big leaps. She moved to San Diego, and transitioned her career into the world of Human Resources.   Robyn was a key contributor to the recruitment team at Arthur Andersen, so external staffing was a natural transition for her.  Throughout her career, Robyn has continued to mine her HR talent in recruitment, Benefits Administration, program and data management, performance management, and training, to name a few.  Her progress in HR & Accounting Management positions includes the opportunity to combine her two loves serving as CFO/Director of HR for a local Financial Services organization.   Robyn recently started her own Accounting and HR consulting company, Beyond Business Solutions Inc., an organization focused on going beyond linear business needs to provide solutions that merge these two disciplines together.

Sue Dehesa, SPHR-CA, Human Resources/Business Partner Consultant

Sue has an H.R. Consultancy focused on establishing sound human resources practices for small-to-medium sized employers.  Her experience as a human resources specialist/business partner/manager with two large firms, General Dynamics Space Systems Division and Science Applications International, has provided her with a unique tool kit from two distinctly different human resources models.  This tool kit has enabled her to structure processes and programs at small and medium-sized companies which add value and contribute to business success. She endorses the concept that employees leave managers, not companies, and promotes management training and coaching. Sue joined San Diego H.R. Roundtable in March 2014, and we invited her to participate in the Member Spotlight to give us the ‘new member’ perspective.
