ED COTTER

Ed has worked in an executive capacity for three Fortune 500 companies over the course of his thirty-five year career. As executive vice president, human resources for Sony Electronics, Inc., Ed received national recognition as a leader in managing change and as an innovator in human resources practices. His work has extended far beyond traditional human resources activities to include leading a consumer experience initiative in sales and marketing and managing the facilities organization throughout the United States. Ed led the construction of Sony Electronics' U.S. headquarters building in San Diego which received gold LEED certification for environmental achievement. Prior to his role at Sony, Ed was vice president of human resources at Compaq Computer and played a key role in the merger of Compaq, Digital Equipment Corporation and Tandem Computer. He held a variety of human resources positions at Digital prior to joining Compaq.

Ed has provided consulting support to a number of start-ups and continues to coach/mentor individuals relative to their personal/career goals. Additionally, he is a member of the Board of Directors for the San Diego HR Roundtable. He holds an MBA from the University of New Hampshire and a bachelor's degree from Boston College.
